First Shooting Day!
Hey guys, welcome back! So today we spent all class filming and getting as much as we could done. In our filming opening, many scenes take place in a school setting. So we took advantage of already being at school and filmed as many scenes that occur there as we could. Both our lead characters are in the same class so it was easy to film those scenes.
Additionally, as mentioned in the previous blog, Tomas, who will be playing out male lead character, let us shoot in his Jeep. The scenes we filmed in his Jeep are the ending scenes of them going away, starting a new life. We wanted to show both actors in these scenes and really capture the love between them. Therefore, we decided to record from the car's trunk; this allows the audience to see both actors as they talk to each other.
Moreover, we shot other scenes that took place at school. We shot one at the library of our school and lucky for us, they had desks out because of testing so it really looked like a classroom, which is just what we wanted. Along with 3 other of my classmates, I was an extra who sat in the back in order to make it look more like a classroom.
In this scene, Margo reveals to Liam she is leaving. We shot many over the shoulder shots to really show how Liam felt when Margo told him she was leaving and also to show the frustration and stress Margo felt in her life at that moment. This further supports our main storyline of Margo feeling like she is not living the life she is supposed to be living, and also showing that Liam even though feeling confused and shocked, will support her always.
